  1. How do students apply for the Shoe City/ WBTJ College Scholarship?
    Students should download a copy of the application from either the Richmond Recreation & Parks Foundation www.rrpfoundation.org, Shoe City www.shoecityonline.com, or WBTJ www.1065thebeat.com

     

  2. When is the deadline for submitting an application?
    The application deadline is May 22, 2009
     

  3. Where do I send my application?
    Applications may be mailed to:

  4. Who is eligible for this scholarship?
    This scholarship is available to High School Seniors in the Richmond area.
     

  5. What factors will be utilized to determine the scholarship winner?
    The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.
     

  6. What is the amount of the scholarship award?
    One $1,500 college scholarship will be awarded in the Richmond area.
     

  7. When is the deadline for the scholarship?
    The application deadline is May 22, 2009. 

  8. Where can the scholarship be used?
    Scholarship awards can be used at degree-granting, nonprofit, four-year colleges and universities in the United States that participate in the Federal Student Aid Programs (Title IV). Special requests for scholarships to attend community colleges will be reviewed by the foundation on a case-by-case basis.
     

  9. What expenses can the scholarship pay?
    Scholarship funds can cover direct educational expenses charged to the student by the college or university including tuition and fees, room and board, books and mandatory equipment.
     

  10. Will I receive a check for my scholarship?
    Scholarship funds are paid directly to the educational institution. The school will be instructed to apply the funds to the student’s account equally between semesters/quarters. Any funds in excess of a student’s remaining need will be returned to the Foundation.
